Claude Angers is a professional corporate photographer based in the Laurentides region, north of Montreal.  Claude knits his photographic talents with strategic business savvy on behalf of clients from a wide range of interests.

But who is Claude Angers? Growing up in beautiful Montreal, my childhood passions revolved around photography, hockey, and music – but not always in that order.   A teenager, I once found an Instamatic camera on the side of the road while walking our dog.  Summoning all of my  powers of persuasion I was able to convince my parents to help me purchase that first roll of  black and white  film  While the first results were far from masterpieces, I developed that first roll of film in a friend’s darkroom and my desire to create was ignited.  I believe that  artistic interest was always there, inspired by my mother Jeanne. Born in Quebec City in early last century, she quickly developed a taste for fine things, so much that she enrolled in Quebec’s School of Fine Arts and was taught by none other than Jean-Paul Lemieux, the notorious painter. Her legacy will forever be cherished and enriches my life daily. As I work on my photos, I honor her memory.

After several decades of corporate leadership in companies such as GE and Canon and others, I chose to finally devote my full attention to this work.

The word passion alone cannot describe the love I have for the art – and the communications power -- of photography.   Although the digital age has made photography easily accessible to many, the challenge is to represent the details, the nuance and the message ever more crisply.  Perfectionist to a fault at times, I seek constant improvement by regularly attending master classes and industry seminars in New York, Toronto, and other major photography centers.

In our work together, the moment belongs to you. Technology aside, it is the relationship created between the photographer and the subject that creates the beginnings of a great photograph. This bond allows the subject to comfortably display their personality and emotions. I begin every session, not with photos, but by listening.   In these phone and in-person conversations, I am able to discovers the essence of the subject, the objectives for the photo (after all most people don’t take the time to have a professional photo made in the first place) and how the photos will be used.
